Ho Chi Minh City - The Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City organized a Press Conference on 04th January 2022 to brief on the Consulate’s activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The press conference was organized with the aim to inform the Consulate’s plans and activities in coordination with Vietnamese counterparts in the year of 2022. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Do Viet Ha, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations; Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam India - Friendship Association; Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, Director of Investment Promotion Centre – South Vietnam attended the Press Conference.

2. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India reaffirmed the positive results in the relationship between India and Vietnam over the past 50 years. India and Vietnam has shared a strong traditional friendship and mutual development in different fields, including trade & investment, higher education, healthcare, media, culture – tourism and capacity building.

3. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City is planning various events/ activities in different aspects such as cultural exchanges, exhibitions, arts (dance, drama, theater, music, painting etc.) and people-to-people exchange. The Consulate is also planning to send a large number of students, lectures, scientists, doctors, nurses & engineers to get exposure training in India.

4. Consul General of India also expressed the appreciation towards people and the Government of India and Vietnam for the mutual assistance during the Covid-19 crisis. The Consul General of India committed to promote the bilateral relationship between the two countries in coming time by connecting Universities, Institutes, Business Chambers, Associations and Hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in South Vietnam with Indian counterparts.
