Vacancy for the post of Community Welfare Assistant

Announcement Number: HCM/578/03/2025 dated 17 September 2025.

The Consular Section of Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking an eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Community Welfare Assistant.

Job Profile: Primary duties include the following:

  • Supporting administrative and accounts-related tasks of the Consulate.
  • Responding to inquiries and communicating with Vietnamese entities.
  • Managing the Consulate’s social media and publicity work.
  • Maintaining and strengthening media relations and outreach.
  • Preparing publicity-related reports and assisting in information dissemination.
  • Ensuring proper record keeping and providing support in other divisions as required.
  • Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

Age: Applicant must be between 22 to 35 years.

Working hours: Full Time 09:00 to 17:30 (with half hour lunch break), Monday to Friday, except Consulate holidays. The Community Welfare Assistant may also be asked to work after office hours or on weekends, in order to assist with the hosting of events by the Consulate.

Salary: Basic Pay Scale 800-24-1160-35-1510-45-1960 (in USD) per month.

Benefits: In addition to Salary, Social Security, Health Insurance and Unemployment Insurance shall be paid as per guidelines of Service Company to Foreign Mission.

Leave: Admissible annual leave and sick leave with pay.

Qualification Requirements: The applicants must be Vietnamese national possessing the following essential qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields).
    • Fluency in English and Vietnamese (speaking and writing).
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with design/content tools (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, video editing basics).
    • Experience or strong interest in media relations, social media management, and publicity/communications.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and event planning skills 
  • Eager to learn and able to work diligently

Period of Employment: Upon successful completion of probation of three months, the Assistant shall be treated as a full employee of the Consulate. Full salary will be paid during the probation period.
