Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Fellowship for Music

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi was a legendary Indian classical vocalist and one of the greatest artists of his generation. He was the flagbearer of Hindustani classical music by bringing it closer to a common man. The illustrious life of Pandit Ji is an inspiration for many generations in classical music to come.

In his memory, ICCR has initiated a “Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Fellowship for Music” which will be available to foreign musicians/artists/scholars to do research in the field of music. Under this programme, the selected Fellow is affiliated, on the basis of mutual consent, to an academic/cultural institution in India. Fellowships are for eminent musicians/artists/scholars with proven knowledge in the field of music with at least 10 years of practical/research experience and should be above the age of 35 years on the date of application.
