Admissions for Vietnamese Students under Self Finance Scheme

Admission for Vietnamese Students in India

Applications are invited from Vietnamese students for nominations to undergraduate courses in

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) under Self-Financing Scheme for academic year 2017-18.

2. Eligibility criteria for various courses:

a.      50% aggregate marks with at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) separately in Grade 12

b.      50% mark in English in the qualifying examination (equivalent to 10+2 standard of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India - equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi)

c.       50% mark in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), administered in India on 07 May, 2017. Visit www.cbseneet.nic.in for further details.

3. Vietnamese students can also apply for nomination pending final declaration of their qualifying examination results equivalent to 10+ 2 standard of CBSE. Nomination of such candidates will, however, depend upon their being eligible on the basis of merit.

4. Selected candidates are expected to comply with admission formalities and procedures of the respective colleges/universities. These may include specific medical examinations including HIV test in India.

5. The lists of colleges for MBBS/BDS courses as per last year’s allocation (Link to open in a separate browser Annexure I) . The seats are generally allocated in these Colleges / Institutes but may vary depending on final allocation by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Human Resource Development respectively.

i) Four copies of candidate’s recent photographs duly attested by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City (CGI, HCM) pasted at prescribed places in the application;

ii) Four attested copies of candidate’s certificates and marks sheets with percentage of marks of the qualifying examination (A certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi that the candidate’s qualifying examination is equivalent to 10+2 standard of CBSE in India for the purpose of admission to MBBS/BDS courses must be enclosed).

iii) Four attested copies of candidate’s:

a. first four pages of the passport;

b. citizenship certificate;

c. birth certificate;

d. character certificate from the Head of Institution last attended;

6. Last date for receipt of completed applications at the Consulate is 15 June, 2017.

*Important points to note:

  1. Above seats are on self-financing basis and Students Cell in this Ministry does not provide any financial aid/scholarships to foreign students selected under above Scheme.

  2. The applicants may please be advised that merely forwarding their applications should not be treated as assurance for their nomination by the Ministry. The Ministry will scrutinize all the applications and only after these are found complete in all respects, the names of the eligible applicants on the basis of eligibility criteria of marks in Grade 12th & NEET will be considered for nomination in the order of merit and preference for the course. 

  3. It is the applicants’ responsibilities to ensure that Indian degrees are valid in Vietnam.

  4. Mandatory Attendance 

  5.    Students must ensure that they have completed the mandatory attendance as required by that particular University to be eligible to take their exams. The Council will not issue any recommendation letter if the scholar is short of attendance.

  6.    Council would not extend the scholarship period if the scholar is detained/debarred from sitting in the exam due to shortage of attendance.

  7. Return journey to home country

  8.    Students should leave the country immediately after the completion of their studies. Under normal circumstances, the time gap between completion of studies and final departure should not exceed one month.

  9.    A scholar wishing to travel outside India during the course of study for personal reasons may do so at his/her own expense and with the prior permission of the Ministry and the Institute where he/she is studying.
